1, 2, 3 Eyes on Me!
No, not really...
But, eyes on us!
A few of us blogging buddies were chatting the other day and we decided it would be fun to run a 3-way giveaway!
It's much more fun than 3-way calling and way luckier than a 3-leaf clover...So, there ya go!
We've each picked one of our top 3 super units and we're offering all 3 to you!
We're picking 3 winners to each win these 3 units on the 3rd school day of the week...AKA Wednesday. ;)

LOVE THIS....I could use all of these items. I will be watching and waiting for the 3rd day of the week to see if I am a winner....
ReplyDeleteand....one way I get my students attention is through singing songs. They get quiet and start to listen when they hear my singing voice even though it is horrific..lol

ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun! Thanks for such an awesome giveaway. My favorite attention getter is to say "peanut butter peanut butter" and the kiddos say "jelly jelly". :)
ReplyDeleteI use whole brain teaching. I say "Class Class" and the kids say "Yes Yes" or I say "Classity Class" and they say "Yesity Yes" and other variations.
ReplyDeleteI have a beautiful chime...such a peaceful sound. Then they freeze and if all eyes are on me I give them a class point.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea!!!!! Love all the items you're giving away!
ReplyDelete"When I count to 5 and open my eyes, all of my friends will be sitting magic 5 (eyes on teacher, hands on desk, mouth closed, ears listening, sitting up straight) 5,4,3,2,1"
ReplyDeleteI do give me 5 and count down :)
ReplyDeleteI love to use music....certain songs make them stop and move to whatever is our next transition.
ReplyDeleteMy kindergarten teacher says "class?" and they respond with "yes" and then she says "classy class?" and they reply with "yessy yes" its adorable! I say 3...2...1... and my kids whisper "Blast off"
ReplyDeleteI do "1, 2, 3, Eyes on Me" and the kids respond, "1, 2, Eyes on You." I also have a bell I ring or I turn the lights off to get attention.
ReplyDeleteI use "1,2,3, Eyes on me" and kids say, "1,2, Eyes on You". I also have a variety of noise makers and the children respond by putting hands on head and freezing.
ReplyDeleteI sing silly little songs to get my kiddos attention!
ReplyDeleteI use several different phrases in addition to 1-2-3 eyes on me. I say "I'm ready to teach" They say "I'm ready to learn", I say "Holy Moly" They say "Guacamole" and I say "Macaroni and cheese" They say "Everybody freeze"
ReplyDeleteI love using "class/yes" and "hands and eyes" from Whole Brain Teaching.
ReplyDeleteAnd a hush fell over the crowd.....the whole class says HUSHHHHHHH! :)
ReplyDeleteI use clapping patterns that my little ones repeat. Another fav is "If you can hear my voice, clap once (clap). If you can hear my voice, clap twice (clap clap)" (Or if we're somewhere quiet, I use blink once/twice.) My little ones LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI start counting back from 5 and when I get to 0 they need to be where they are supposed to be and sitting quietly, or else they have to move their clip down. It works like a charm everytime! :)

Hello! Great work on your blog. You both are clearly great at innovating new ideas for your classrooms! It’s fun to see teachers exploring new methods to motivate their students, especially in the subject of math. Many teachers are looking for fun, familiar games that keep kids interested in math this time of year. The Tic Tac Math family of games for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch are great for this. I would love for you to take a look at the games here and let us know what you think:

IPMG Publishing participates in the Apple Educational Discount Program. If you have an iPad program or a ‘suggested apps for parents’ program, it would be wonderful if you would consider including Tic Tac Math.
Thank you so much for all that you do for kids and for considering our apps!

Love these products! I use a few different things for attention grabbers and transitions. The one I use most is my bell - they put their hands on their shoulders and eyes on me. I also use songs for transitions - when the song comes on, their voice goes off and the goal is for them to be cleaned up and ready for the next activity at the end of the song. I also say in increasingly quiet voice "if you can hear me touch your ____ (fill in blank), if you can hear me touch your ____" etc. Usually they're ready by the 3rd body part.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I ring a bell and they know to put their hands on their head. Lately, I have been trying out the Whole Brain Teaching "Class, Class"
ReplyDeleteBahdup bah bah bah (mcdonalds theme) and the students reply with I'm lovin' it! Also count down, 3..2..1.. (Whisper) shhhh.... Until it's silent.
ReplyDeleteI love "hocus pocus!" "everybody focus!" I whisper it, shout it, sing it...they all have to copy however I say it.
ReplyDeleteClass, class and they respond yes, yes!! Or hocus pocus, everybody focus!
